carboncalculator
For those of you wanting to pass the time it may be interesting to find out your carbon footprint. This is the site to do it. It is hard to calculate a carbon footprint which is accurate because there are so many different methods and values on the internet these days. However it will give you a good rough average and then you can see for yourself where you need to improve!
www.biofuelwatch.co.uk There are good points and bad points about biofuels. They may be better than oil but they are not perfect and do some environmental damage if not produce properly. That said, this site is promoting biofuels which don't have the bad points. It is possible! To find out how, visit their website!

Light up the World
This is a REALLY interesting site. Whilst we in the developed world continue to shove heat wasting bulbs into sockets, or our new energy-efficient bulbs if you are feeling green, the developing world is seeing new light. No it is not candles. These are LEDs. Now one clever canadian is producing suitable light for developing villages. According to these guys they can produce enough light to power an entire rural village with less energy than a single conventional 100 Watt light bulb... don't believe it? I didn't believe it till I saw it!
